Adjustable Bumper Stand Usage:
Automotive engineering. The essence of the invention: the device is a stand, on the pivot frame of which a bumper of a passenger car is installed, secured with tension chains and tubes covered with elastic material, which allows to ensure rigidity and fixation of the front part of the bumper; and telescopic tubes mounted on guides, which are fastened with clips to the side parts of the bumper, which allows to provide rigidity and fixation of the side parts of the bumper. The installation of the bumper on the stand is initially carried out using tensioning chains, which allow the front part of the bumper to be pressed against the tubes covered with elastic material. After fixing the front part of the bumper, its side parts are fixed using clips attached to telescopic tubes, which are adjusted to the desired length. Once fully mounted on the stand, the position of the bumper can be adjusted within 180 degrees to the floor surface.
The invention relates to automotive engineering and allows to reduce labor intensity and improve the quality of the technological process of painting and repairing a bumper of a passenger car.
Before starting technological operations with a bumper stand:
Make yourself sure, that the bumper is installed on the stand in the required position. Technological operations for full and local painting can be performed at the stand. During the operation of the car, chips, scratches appear on the paintwork, caused by climatic conditions, the state of the road surface. A body element such as a bumper is most susceptible to damage, so there is a need for repair painting.
Known stands for painting bumpers of passenger cars, which lack the necessary functional properties. One of the significant drawbacks of these stands is the inconvenience of work, and in this regard, the time for carrying out the operations of the technological process, both for painting and for repairing the bumper, is significantly increased.

This creates difficulties in the repair and painting of the bumper, due to insufficient access to all surfaces, which can lead to poor-quality technological operations.

The main disadvantage of the stand is the impossibility of ensuring the rigidity of the side parts of the bumper during installation. This makes it difficult to carry out preparatory, for example, grinding, operations with the side parts of the bumper. In this regard, the accuracy of processing and the quality of the operation will be low, and the labor intensity of the work will be significant.

The technical problem is solved by the fact that the proposed stand has telescopic tubes with clamps, which are attached to the guide between the attachment arm and the lever arm. This allows the side sections of the bumper to be secured.

The proposed stand consists of a support frame 1, consisting of a base 2, which is two longitudinal profiles 3 with attached wheels 4 and one transverse profile at the ends 5. To the base 2 at the intersection of the transverse profile 5 and longitudinal profiles 3, two perpendicular profile 6, located in the same plane. Two jibs 7 are rigidly attached to the perpendicular profiles 6, which are located at an angle to the longitudinal profiles 3 and the transverse profile 5.
A post 8 is perpendicularly attached to the support frame 1, in which there is a hole for a fixing pin 13 and a bearing assembly 9, consisting of a sleeve 10 and a shaft 11. A fixing disk 12 is fixed on the shaft 11, which has uniformly spaced holes on the surface to ensure immobility. The disc 12 with the help of the pin 13 is fixed with the stand 8 through the hole for the fixing pin.
A pivot frame 14 is rigidly attached to the upper part of the fixing disc 12, consisting of two symmetrical halves, each of which has two arms (lever arm 15 and attachment arm 16). The pivot frame 14 can rotate in the bearing assembly 9 by 180 degrees and is fixed by means of the pin 13 and the fixing disk 12 at a selected angle relative to the support frame 1. On the pivot frame 14 between the lever arm 15 and the attachment arm 16, a guide 17 is rigidly attached to which, with using screw clamps 18, two telescopic tubes 19 are attached. To stiffen the side part of the bumper 20 during its repair, clips 21 are installed at the ends of the telescopic tubes 19.
At the end of the lever arm 15 there is a slot for fixing the tension chain 22. Before installing the bumper 20 on the stand, one end of the chain is attached to its attachment points
